One of my all time favourite and dear friend, Fatina Asfour is a regionally and internationally acclaimed head of Kumbaz . Established in 1986, Kumbaz is a modern garment design house that combines traditional heritage with modern accents, aiming to recapture Jordanian culture and revive it through research and dedicated hard work.
Kumbaz began as a small atelier of designers who wanted to preserve Jordanian heritage and modernize it. Kumbaz is a perfectionist atelier, and Asfour keeps her attention attuned to details. She uses rich silks and hand-woven materials, as well as antique gold threads on its hand-embroidered items.
