Can one really get away with wearing velvet in the summertime? Yes, why not?! Especially in Long Island, where I’ve been finding myself retreating to earlier in the year than ever before. It’s always a little cooler than NYC, and much less spread out. Miles of vineyards instead of miles of city traffic. The air feels and smells cleaner. It’s a whole different world just a few hours away. Northfolk, Long Island is different than the Catskills and different than the Hamptons. It’s something in between. It’s everything I miss about living in California right here in the state of New York....
