bringing western goth to a frilly dress
I think I first fell in love with the idea of western goth with Riccardo Tisci’s Spring 2009 collection . – dark, edgy, and empowering. The west can be a kind of spooky, foreboding place so the unexpected combination kind of makes sense. This dark floral dress from & Other Stories has the perfect combination of prairie dress vibes and dark romanticism that fits so well in this sort of landscape. I feel like a dress like this shouldn’t be treated as too precious. It needs tough leather accessories to balance the femininity, like a silver western belt and ankle boots .
