Hearts and Flowers

It blossoms in the spring with clusters of two tone pinky-purple (magenta-fuchsia ?) buds which seems about as girly as it gets. But, then these flowers turn into heart shaped leaves. This must be nature's belated valentine to the world. I'm very fortunate that this tree blooms in my parents' yard and that I was able to catch it at its peak this year. All the red buds in my yard are very small and if they do have any blossoms on them, they're too small for me to notice. Shopping...
