Sunday the 24th of April was another one of those sun-drenched Spring days on which the brilliant blue sky observed through the window belied the fact that it was still somewhat chilly out there. Nevertheless, the warmth of the sun trapped between the walls in our sheltered garden made me shed a layer as I was planting out the perennials we'd brought back from the garden centre the other week.
