Everything Is Illuminated
Here’s my outfit for this week’s SIA, inspired by this gorgeous 14th-century Book of Hours with the cutout borders. I knew that I’d wear this linen button-up – the lace details on the collar and the cuffs are perfect – but for the bottom, I was less sure. In the end, I went with this skirt because the navy and red combo and the colorful flowers remind me of the colorful illustrations of medieval illuminated manuscripts. I also added my gold scroll brooch to mimic the gold decorations often found in these manuscripts, and my shoes can be a nod to the leather covers as well. I’m quite happy with how it turned out!
