Japan Diary #5: Mount Yoshino
The second day trip we did while in Kyoto was to Mt. Yoshino (or Yoshinoyama), one of Japan’s most famous cherry blossom spots. We caught an express train from Kyoto and arrived at Yoshino-guchi station along with the morning crowd.

The mountain is divided into four levels or areas – Shimo Senbon, Naka Senbon, Kami Senbon, and Oku Senbon. You can take a bus or a ropeway/cable car up to the town on the second level and walk from there, but the wait was too long, so we opted to walk.
