Photo by Alex Schwab on flickr If Friday night finds me having a drink in an atmospheric pub with a friend, it's a good start to the weekend, and one of my favourite areas in Vancouver to go out is Gastown. Gastown's a historic district by Vancouver standards--the city isn't very old though and a lot of Gastown cobbled, old-world charm was manufactured in the 70s. Nonetheless, it's a pleasant place for a Friday night, especially since the seabus is just a ten minute walk away (I have to take a 15-minute boat ride to get to the nearby suburb where I grew up).
