Herbal Embroidery
Here’s my outfit for this week’s SIA, inspired by Nanibah Chacon’s mural of Doña Maclovia Zamora . I have a ton of these embroidered tops that I could use, but none of them is in the two dominant colors in the mural – cobalt and burnt orange – so in the end, I went with the top whose embroidery most closely resembled one of the flowers on the mural, and paired it with my tan skirt and brown clogs as a nod to the wall. Doña Maclovia is wearing a locket on the mural, so I added my locket too. I’m happy with how the outfit turned out, even though it’s not 100% accurate.
