Gummy Bear Madonna
Here’s my outfit for this week’s SIA, inspired by Giovanni Bellini’s Madonna and Child with the Infant Saint John the Baptist , aka the “Gummy Bear Madonna”. I knew I’d wear some blue and red, but I wasn’t sure in which combination. In the end, I went with this pale blue floral shirt to reflect the blue sky, the red skirt to reflect the red robe, and navy flats to reflect the blue outer robe. I also accessorized with my cameo brooch because of its classical silhouette, and the gold frame is a nod to the frame of the painting too. So this was a bit of a challenge, but I’m really happy with how it turned out....
