SIA Inspiration: Betye Saar
Welcome to another week of SIA! This week, Shelbee is our host, and here is her pick:
Since it’s MLK Day today in the US, Shelbee wanted to pick a related artwork, and this mixed-media piece (it looks like a painting, but it’s actually inside a shadowbox) by American artist Betye Saar, called “ The Liberation of Aunt Jemima “, is perfect.
