SIA Inspiration: The Leader Of The Luddites

Welcome to another week of SIA! This week, Shelbee is our host, and here is her pick: This etching, by an anonymous artist, depicts “The Leader of the Luddites “. It’s intended to make fun of the Luddites (the loom-smashing, anti-machinery textile workers of 19th-century England) by showing a man dressed in a woman’s frock, but in this day and age of rampant AI usage, the idea of protesting against technology taking away human jobs is sadly becoming relevant again.
