The Luddite

Here’s my outfit for this week’s SIA, inspired by the satirical etching “ The Leader of the Luddites “. The polka-dot dress is an easy choice (it almost has that Empire waist silhouette, which works out great because the etching was made around the same time), but the styling and the accessories took some thinking. I decided to have some fun with them – since the etching features a man dressed in women’s clothes, I chose to pair my dress with masculine accessories like the tie (the red color and the stripes are also a nod to some details in the etching) and my monk shoes. The end result looks a bit piecemeal, but I’m happy...
