Rooster With Wild Flowers

Here’s my outfit for SIA, inspired by Ito Jakuchu ‘s “Rooster and Hen with Hydrangeas”. I immediately knew I’d wear my rooster brooch for this, but for the rest of the outfit, I drew a blank. In the end, I went with this embroidered top as a nod to the flowers in the painting (even though these embroideries are nowhere near as intricate!), these green trousers to reflect the green leaves/grass, and these mules to mimic both the branches and the patterns of the chickens’ feathers.
