The Concert

Here’s my outfit for this week’s SIA, inspired by Johannes Vermeer’s lost work “ The Concert “. I had a different outfit planned for this with my black gingham skirt (or the checkered flooring, of course), but the weather, as usual, had other ideas. It was raining buckets for days, so I had to scrape my original plan and went with these black gingham trousers instead. For the top, I chose this lace-trimmed linen blouse to echo the dresses of the two ladies, my waistcoat is a nod to the tapestry/carpet in the foreground, my shoes have a similar color to the back of the man’s chair, and my brooch (sadly, I don’t have any...
