The (Im)personal Touch
In a recent episode of the guide to life (not), aka the Real Housewives of New York,
cast member Sonya gets woken up in bed by her morning intern who hands
Sonya her mobile phone with a full voicemail box. Sonya complains that
her voicemail is always full because she can't be bothered to check her
messages, then proceeds to change her voicemail message to tell people
who call not to leave her a message, and to instead text or e-mail her.
That the woman has a fleet
of personal interns who do everything for her is neither here nor there.
What really got me about that scene was that I first was aghast at her
