Earlier today, amidst the pre-Thanksgiving flurry of cleaning up the house, doing laundry, taking inventory of the food we have and need, mom told me she was going to pick up the cheesecake she ordered for Halloween. I knew what she meant, if only in part because Halloween is a holiday as dear to me as Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's weeks past now, nearing on a month, and besides a dumb little post on tumblr I let the time pass without so much as a breath about it here.
