I’m always a fan of shopping with a purpose – especially when that purpose is to empower women.
1000 Shillings is an online market place where artisans from Uganda and Nepal can sell their products and earn microgrants. Microgrants that will give each woman an opportunity to start her own business.
They sent me this lovely purse made by Hadijjah, a mother of four. Hadijjah is planning on starting her own tailoring business with the microgrant she will receive. (Sounds like Project Runway is gonna have to get international!)
