On Criticism and Doing What You Want
Since moving back to Edmonton, the weirdest backhanded comment that's come my way from both friends and acquaintances more than once, is that they never know where I am located, what I am doing, where I'll be next. Such comments are usually meant with playfulness, but there's also an edge of criticism and condescending I've been rolling off my shoulders since having to move home in August. "Well, why DO you move around so much?" "Ever going to sit tight and commit?" or they comment on how I am "settling down" and finally getting a "real job" now that I've moved home and work for The Man.
