May Day
May 1st. May Day, a festival and holiday in many countries as well as International Workers' Day. May 1st marks many small but memorable and special anniversaries for me, such as the first time I travelled overseas alone at nineteen eight years ago, the date I moved to London when I was twenty, the date I visited Spain when I was twenty-one, the date Charlie visited me in Toronto last year, and for many years during university the unofficial start of summer, as Canadian universities end at mid to late April.
