What’s Dictating Your Style?
You know those, ‘Every woman needs these 50 pieces in her closet’ infographics?
I used to feel this weird combo of guilt and raised blood pressure when I saw them. I felt like I had to have them or my closet was somehow incomplete. So I would buy those pieces not knowing how to make outfits, and not even really liking some of them, leading to an over-stuffed closet and “nothing to wear.”
Total garbage, but before I started thinking about invisible scripts and realized this was one that I wanted to kick to the curb, those infographics (plus a few blogs and magazines) dictated my closet and style.
