Thinking Of Lace As Edgy & An Easy Lace Alteration
Lace fabric is usually thought of as a romantic, sweet and feminine element in fashion, and while I feel it certainly can be, I also tend to find it quite edgy. The visual of skin peeking through sheer lace can be sexy in a daring kind of way, and in my opinion, lace is at its best when paired with elements that contradict its syrupy sweet reputation, such as leather, wool, and suiting.
For me, the type of lace is also important. I prefer nothing too flowery or doily looking, but rather open and geometric in design. And eyelash lace is alway nice for peeking out of cuffs, hems, and necklines. I also take my lace how I take my coffee…black.
