Ta Eksarchia in Athens
" Ta Eksarchia" is one of the most interesting and historical quarters of Athens. Originally, this was considered the furthest part of the very city centre. Here the inhabitants were artists and builders, nowadays we would consider it Bohemien. The buildings are really nice and almost in every street there are a lot of bushes and trees, it is a green area. In the 19th century, they settled here part of the Athens University and the Polytechnic. In the 17th November 1973 one tanker broke through the Polytechnic gate to sedate the students riots that were made against the regime.
