refinishing our front porch.
i got a bit antsy during the middle of the summer, being home all day without much to do. our neighbors had recently had their porch flooring replaced and finished and it looked absolutely beautiful. ours was still covered in layer upon layer of thick gray paint; i honestly had no idea what was underneath but expected some areas of rot because of peeling paint and warped boards. that's what the porch looked like when we first moved in. not terrible, but there's a whole heck of a lot of gray. i figured that i'd start at the far corner of the porch, slowly removing paint with a heat gun and scraper. the wood underneath was in surprisingly good condition and i could remove...
