"What is the purpose of art?" If you do a quick search of this question you'll most likely get some absurd answers. One of my top results was that art was a means of exposing the corruption of the ruling class, but since most works of art are something that have historically and even currently something only the wealthier people in the world can afford, no artist would have used their work to call their patrons monsters and stayed in the business for very long. So, i we can immediately cross off such preposterous terms, I'll ask again, What is the purpose of art? I remember my professor asking this question on my very first day of Art Appreciation...
