The pink stripes of this shirt and the pink pants remind me of coral, which is why I paired them with almost all of my marine-related brooches and pins (the only ones missing are my other turtle brooch and my fish brooch, both of which are big and more of statement pieces). And even though they’re kind of small, so no one can tell what they are at a glance, I know they’re there, and I’m all for subtle satorial in-jokes like that. Of course, they also broke up the monochromatic pink and added a touch of interest to the outfit.
