The Apple Of Pattern Mixing
Here’s my outfit for this week’s SIA, inspired by Edward Burne-Jones ‘ “The Garden of the Hesperides”. When I picked this, I knew I’d wear this corduroy shirt – the color and the texture make it the perfect nod to the nymphs’ gowns. For the rest of the outfit, I went with my plaid trousers for its mix of green and brown (the plaid even has a streak of bright blue running through it like the snake in the painting!) and my tapestry waistcoat because the painting looks a bit like a tapestry to me (all Pre-Raphaelite paintings do, since they took so much inspiration from medieval art), and of course, I had to...
