21-in-2012: navy blue skirt

One of my goals this year is to create more than I consume; I want to make more clothing and jewelry than I buy. It's got nothing to do with "being green" - it's more about saving green for me. I have hundreds of dollars worth of unused fabric (really, I added it all up) and until I've made all of my 21 in 2012 items I'm not allowing myself to buy any more. I have also sworn off thrifting until I've altered at least half of the items in my To Be Altered pile and I'm not purchasing anything I could make on my own. This is the year of the DIY for me. I'm acutely aware of the colors and pieces I feel are lacking in my wardrobe; isn't there always just one more thing...
