A few Wednesdays back, I engaged in some shameless, ironic Edmonton fun. Since coming home for a few weeks, I've had a hankering to do things I usually wouldn't in Edmonton, so when a group of friends asked if I wanted to to go a notoriously tacky country bar for some line dancing and two-stepping, I said yes. And wow, was The Ranch ever an experience! Lots of tanned girls with big, curly hair, too much black eye make-up, booty shorts and mini dresses, and clean-cut cowboy types as far as the eye could see.
