So some of you might already know this about me, but English isn't technically my first language, chronologically-wise at least. I'm from Québec originally and didn't speak English until my family moved to British Columbia, at which point I was a mute for a year (thanks to my older sister for translating for me during that time, what a good sister!). I then lived in France for a bit as a teen and was really fortunate to still be fluent in my first language for most of my life.
