Pearl of the Danube
Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever had the privilege of visiting. What felt like a mix of Paris and Prague, the grand Austro-Hungarian buildings peppered with Art Nouveau styles had me wide-eyed and snap happy. My British pal Charlotte and I jetted over from London for a few days after Christmas to celebrate the new year in style. It was FREEZING compared to London, but we still managed to get out and see the sites, such as the Dohany Street synagogue, the Buda Hills and Buda Castle, and the House of Terror.
