Smocking
You can’t see it very well in the wide shots, but this top has smocking all across the front, and it’s one of the reasons I bought it – it reminds me of a blouse I had from childhood. Plus, it has this 1970s peasant blouse quality that I think will go well with a lot of my trousers/skirts (though I’m going more with a 1950s/1960s look here). My only complaint is that the fabric is quite thick, so it’s more suitable for early fall/spring than summer, but it’s certainly going to make more appearances on the blog!
